HEALTH UPDATE ON ERICO AND HEATHER

For the first time since Heather’s injury, her neurosurgeon allowed
her out of bed this morning. With his assistance and that of other
supportive staff, Heather walked about 200 feet in ICU. She was very
happy to be up and walking and also very happy to be down again.
Heather was moved to a private room in the afternoon and is thrilled
to be out of ICU. Her speech seems to improve by the hour and of
course her primary concern is asking about Erico. Heather’s surgeon
has given his approval for a visit soon.

Erico’s metabolic disturbances continue to improve. His neurosurgeon
spent the morning at his bedside reducing most of the life support
medications and monitoring his responses. She says Erico has had
another 2% improvement and hopes to soon wean him completely off the
ventilator. His surgeon repeated that he’s not paralyzed and said with
great feeling that she told her staff she is not giving up. Then with
tear filled eyes she said “It will really be a spiritual experience
for me if he recovers.”
