It is 7:30 p.m. here and Heather has been back in her room for an
hour. The surgery started late, at 2:30 p.m., and was over by 4. The
operation was a success and the rotation flap was perfectly aligned
with surrounding tissue. With effective pain medicine, Heather is very
comfortable. The external fixator was removed during the surgery and
Heather is able to use her left hand freely. Most likely we will be in
the hospital for another six to seven days.
